Health Claims
The health claims below are based on the list of permitted claims set out in the annexes to the Regulation on the Use of Health Claims in Foods and Food Supplements and to the TİTCK Guideline. Whether a claim may be written for a nutrient depends on the daily portion meeting at least 15% of the nutrient reference value for that nutrient. In the daily portion of Zeucit, vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid and selenium meet this condition. The subject of a claim is not the product but the nutrient contained in Zeucit; the wordings below are the official texts from the list.
Vitamin C (200 mg, 250% NRV)
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
- Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
- Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
- Vitamin C increases iron absorption.
- Vitamin C contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of the skin.
Vitamin E (15 mg, 125% NRV)
- Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Folic acid (400 µg, 200% NRV)
- Folate contributes to normal blood formation.
- Folate contributes to normal amino acid synthesis.
- Folate contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism.
- Folate contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
- Folate contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- Folate has a role in the process of cell division.
Because this nutrient appears in the list of claims as folate rather than folic acid, the wordings are written in that form.
Selenium (75 µg, 136% NRV)
- Selenium contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
- Selenium contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Selenium contributes to the normal thyroid function.
- Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair.
- Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal nails.
There is no health claim permitted in Türkiye for the L-carnitine, L-arginine, coenzyme Q10 and astaxanthin contained in the composition. For these ingredients only the amount in the composition is stated; no function information is given. A doctor decides on the treatment of a diagnosed condition.
Basis of the Claims
The nutrient claims on this page are taken verbatim from the list of permitted claims in Annex 1 to the Guideline on the Use of Health Claims in Foods and Food Supplements (26.04.2023) published by the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), together with the Regulation on the Use of Health Claims in Foods and Food Supplements (Official Gazette No. 32169, 20.04.2023). For a claim to be used, the daily portion must meet the source condition defined in Annex 4 to the Guideline, that is, at least fifteen per cent of the Nutrient Reference Value set out in Annex 5; this proportion is shown for each nutrient in the table above. Claims included in the annexes to the Guideline are used without an application for authorisation to, or notification of, the Agency, provided that the provisions of the Regulation and the Guideline are complied with. The product is a food supplement within the scope of the Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Food Supplements (No: 2013/49).
