GAG is a food supplement
GAG is a food supplement manufactured by Aymed İlaç Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., based in Ankara. It is not an authorised medicinal product; it is placed on the market as a food supplement holding an approval number from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Company details are given on the About Aymed İlaç page.
The name of the product comes from the abbreviation of the word glycosaminoglycan. Chondroitin sulfate and sodium hyaluronate, which are present in the composition, are chemically members of this family of molecules.
As the abbreviation "GAG" is also used in other fields, different content may be seen in search results. This page relates only to the food supplement named GAG made by Aymed İlaç. The other food supplements manufactured by the company are listed on the Food Supplements page.
Composition and amounts
| Ingredient | In 2 tablets |
|---|---|
| Glucosamine sulfate | 300 mg |
| Chondroitin sulfate | 300 mg |
| MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) | 200 mg |
| Quercetin | 120 mg |
| Sodium hyaluronate | 40 mg |
| Rutin | 37.5 mg |
The amounts above are for 2 tablets. Where the daily portion is 4 tablets, the amounts are doubled.
The composition contains no vitamins or minerals. For this reason the table does not give a nutrient reference value (NRV) percentage; the values in the table show the amounts of the ingredients.
The tablets of the product are not film coated. For this reason, depending on the natural structure of the substances in the composition, small differences in the colour of the tablets may be seen from batch to batch and the tablet surface is more open to abrasion. This does not affect the quality of the product.
